Product Development

Working with Customers, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing, all technical capabilities are provided to develop new package features, modifications, and designs. Product Development, Improvement and Modification are essential in providing customers with packaging that has marketplace differentiation.

Technical Assistance

Test Programs for new or existing packages are developed to provide recommendations for cost/performance packaging modifications and product shelf-life improvements. Working with the product, Technical Representatives identify the regulatory issues applicable, determine package construction and design, conduct filled bag performance and accelerated environmental storage tests, and evaluate bags in the filling and distribution environment.

Material Evaluation

Assistance is available to identify and quantify the key characteristics of materials which affect product and package performance. Physical Property and Analytical Analyses are available to provide compositional information on papers, polymer films, adhesives, and converting materials.

Regulations

Questions related to the compliance of packaging products to Federal, State, and Local regulations should be directed to Technical Services. Common issues include; Federal regulations related to FDA, USDA, and Compliance of packaging materials; state regulations, related to Proposition 65 and CONEG Compliance; and performance certification as required by UN/DOT, are just some of the areas Technical Services can help.

Sample Bags

Customers packaging new products or instituting material or process changes that may affect changes in bagged product density, particle size distribution, or flow properties should use sample bags to ensure that bags fill, close, and stack/palletize correctly. Bag samples are also recommended when changes in pallet sizes or stacking patterns require changes in bag sizes. Sample bags of all styles and constructions in consumer and multiwall bags are available through Bancroft.
